Life treasures, spiritual enlightenment, divine gifts, and faith

Seizing The Moments Part 5

The moral of the Story Part 2

Life’s treasures are available to everyone. However, those prepared to be in the right mind will suffer inconvenience to get value for time lost. This concept emphasises the importance of being prepared before divine gifts can be availed to us. Those precious gems have always been within reach, yet we may fail to unlock their potential. For the ones who stormed off in anger, perhaps those belongings weren’t meant for them at all.

Yet for those yearning for something they desperately sought, the store concealed the miracles they prayed for. They may even have craved those treasures more than us. Instead, what was needed only revealed themselves to those bold enough to chase after them.

Why does God act in such a clock and dagger manner?

Much as it seems like God is toying with us, it’s a far cry from that notion. Even Jesus Christ, with his ambiguous parables, sparked confusion among the masses. He revealed that the secrets of heaven were meant for the disciples, but only if they could rise to the challenge.

There are two daunting hurdles God’s divine providence must navigate. First, he must ensure those aligned with Him are equipped. Yet their adversaries mustn’t find and weaponise these blessings against His chosen. Secondly, elevating those who profess to love God is imperative. They must be guided through the murky waters of understanding, even when their comprehension is still inadequate.

As educators, we meet people where they are, using their current knowledge as a launchpad. We sketch the outlines of familiar concepts before plunging into the intricate depths, ensuring they don’t drown in the process. By laying a solid foundation, we prepare them to grasp the grand design once it’s unveiled. So, too, our creator leads us despite our inadequate senses. God draws our attention using what we think we desire and know. Then, he leads us to what we need and must understand, which may involve unlearning what led us to Him to acquire new truths.

Moving From Not Knowing To Understanding

As much as we knew we needed to renovate the plumbing, we did not fully comprehend the project’s urgency. Yet an unrelated time-sensitive opportunity presented to us spurred the sense of urgency required for us to act quickly. However, we could not complete that task at the hardware store due to the chaos we found. Instead, we were led to the things that we needed and were financially able to purchase at that moment. Those items were necessary to the point of willingness to endure long queues and inconveniences. We did not intend to check on the requirements of the more significant, costly plumbing project. Yet, the gardening tools were instruments that led us to the right till. We stood there long enough to consider checking something we could not do immediately.

In the same way, faith is an incremental process. “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the Lord.” If you have felt his nudge before, you can follow it again. The cues that lead us are everywhere, but we must have encountered them before to recognise them at play. We must know God in all seasons to recognise God’s hand at work in our lives. Otherwise, we may mistake his guidance and protection for an attack by the devil. God can use preexisting negative and positive events to steer us on a path we have never been on. Ours is to understand the context of life’s events according to their purpose, not by whether or not they pleased us.

Proverbs 3: 13-18

Blessed are those who find wisdom and gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silverย and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand;ย in her left hand are riches and honour. Her ways are pleasant, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her;ย those who hold her fast will be blessed.
