The pressure to choose the right career path is high as students select their college programs or as they are about to graduate. Some people know what they will do from the start, while others are unsure and copy whatever friends and family advise. Unfortunately, some professionals are unhappy with their choices due to unsatisfactory pay or finding a job different from what they expected.
Identifying potential gifts, interests and strengths
Always pay attention to what gets you excited when you are learning or what comes easily. Then, you can capitalize on them to understand your gifts and purpose. Spend a few minutes summarizing what you learn. Then, write a list of courses you like from as early in your education as possible, and your talents.
A possible approach to shortlisting career options
List the possible careers that require those skills and any other skills you lack. You will need more work in those areas to become the complete package. You can discuss with a friend to see what you may have left out on your list or post them in the comments section.
Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s giftโฆbrings him before great men.” Sometimes, you are the gift to others you give, which will open doors for you.
