Moral Of the Storyย
To The Oppressed
- You are not your circumstances or other peopleโs perception of you.
- Life is full of people looking to feel big at the expense of making others feel small, but that does not make you small.
- When you have a purpose and a goal, other peopleโs opinions will not matter to you because your focus is your goal.
- You can still achieve your goals despite how others treat you.
- You donโt have to prove yourself whenever others judge you harshly. That would take away your energy. The time lost to confront people comes at the expense of appreciating what is important to you.
- Challenge yourself to experience new things and complex tasks. It feeds us with new ideas and perspectives that are helpful in our areas of interest. Do not let unpleasant people get in your way.
- Whatever you experience in life. There is a physical or mental place that is familiar to you and brings you comfort. That is a place worth looking forward to returning to.
To The Oppressors
- Never judge people by appearances. It will prevent you from seeing facts. What may seem beneath you may be beyond you, and vice versa.
- Sometimes, opportunities are lost when we or those around us misbehave. Allowing patrons to treat others poorly gave a potential customer a bad impression. Choose your company well and do the right thing even when no one is watching. Every action has a consequence.
- Seeing people down on their luck should not cause pleasure. It is not psychologically sound to want to demean them, so they feel unwanted. We are not so important that others will not find alternatives to get by just because we do not want them.
- We are not always the biggest fish in the sea. There will always be someone more affluent and better at something than us, and we will not learn anything if we act like we are always on top of the food chain.
