Divine alignment and free will

The Cost of Misplaced Trust and Ambition Part 7

God Doesn’t Punish Us; Straying Does

We are only vulnerable to the father of lies when we are separated from the way, the light and the truth. There are many ways the enemy can attack us. The countermeasures required to block every attack would be too numerous and exhausting. Yet to be in Christ ensures we are aligned with God’s will through the Holy Spirit. If we are on the right path, our vision and actions will allow the manifestations of the reality God intended for us. Our free will may acknowledge and embrace the truth or stray towards deception that leads us to lose what God reserved for us.

Free Will Outside Of Devine Will

God does not merely react to what the enemy intends for evil. That perspective implies that God is not intentional and that anything outside God shapes our reality. Instead, God designed everything to ultimately work for our good, even when faced with harmful intentions from others. While God created everyone, individuals can choose to align with or distance themselves from Him. In Christ, whether we face challenges or blessings, we trust that it serves the glory of God, helping us fulfil our purpose. We live our own lives to avoid relying on those who the Holy Spirit does not lead, as they can lead us astray. Such misalignments make us vulnerable to their plans. Being lukewarm in faith creates a misleading sense of security without the assurances that obedience and submission to God will bring. The latter spares us the unpleasant consequences of our misguided actions.

In Conclusion

In a world full of lies, straying from the truth can lead to trouble. God doesn’t have to punish us; our own choices do. Following Christ gives us direction and purpose. Our free will can keep us grounded in truth or pull us into chaos. We can only face life’s challenges through deliberate faith and must be cautious not to fall for evil’s tricks.

Psalm 23:4-6

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
