Leadership is not about who is at the front or holds the highest title. Leadership is about growing into a role by gaining the vision, temperament, and skills required to choose the right people and bring out the best in them. When you have done your part well, you only need to mention where you wish your venture to be and in what time frame, and your creative people will bring it to pass while enjoying themselves and creating many breadcrumbs and alternatives you can revisit in future expansions.

Becoming a bridge to bridge the gaps

A person who only lives in yesterday’s or today’s world will never speak the same language as one who lives in the future, but a good leader can learn from the past and speak the language of how to navigate into the future they desire. The ability to see clearly requires accountability of the decisions made in the past, mindfulness of the present and a clear vision of the future.

Balancing Accountability and Facilitation

It is good to be process-oriented. However, there is a difference between processes and roadblocks. Keep regulations in mind to ensure that systems are fair and accountability is present. However, ensure that there is no unnecessary bureaucracy. These delays arise from inefficiencies, poor planning, poor work attitudes, sabotage, and lack of staff facilitation with necessary materials, knowledge, or skills. Such systems hide the inadequacies of poor staff while frustrating your good staff.

Behind all mass resignations are toxic tendencies and a lack of employees being heard or engaged. Ensure your value systems recognise and reward qualities and processes that can further your ventures. Starting with where you need to be to create sustainable pursuits that lead to individual and collective progress.

Epiphany is the moment you understand the meaning of what puzzles you, but it still doesn’t answer everything because understanding brings up new questions.
