The Illusion of Freedom Part 6

Illumination

Illumination is supplying or brightening with light or the resulting state or providing insight, clarity, or understanding (Merriam-Webster dictionary).

Darkness cannot withstand the light. Situations often blur the line between being a problem and a solution, a complex dichotomy that doesn’t always neatly align. Dear traveller, have you pondered the profound significance of realising that the problem holds the key to the solution? Better still, what is the value of the revelation of discovering the problem itself is the solution? Acknowledging our state of confinement is the pivotal moment that leads to freedom. It appears inconceivable that the solution is that simple, yet it is. The challenge never lies in formulating the solution itself but rather in embracing the truth when our minds are entrenched in a particular perspective.

What do all these revelations mean for us and our lives, fellow travellers?

The greatest challenge we face is not the illusions or the confinement we experience but ourselves. It takes courage to acknowledge that we are not entirely in control and to willingly seek the guidance of those who can help us break free from these limitations. The ego and the world’s pressures often lead us to prefer remaining confined if it means maintaining the illusion of control over our destiny. We tirelessly strive to overcome obstacles on our own, unable to set aside our pride and admit our need for assistance. As a result, we may find ourselves trapped in a cycle of despair and need. Only when we confront the truth about God and ourselves can we begin to perceive reality as it truly is.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment is education or awareness that brings change. (Vocabulary Dictionary).

That enhanced perspective is the crucial first step towards finding peace and liberation. Many may argue that God does not exist without concrete proof. They might even cite evidence from their own experiences to support their beliefs. We have witnessed how the actions of a wise individual can go unnoticed by those who are not yet enlightened. Without insight, our sight and mind are not always reliable. In such cases, how can these eyes and mindsets perceive God? The reality is that God has undoubtedly revealed Himself to those with the capacity to see while remaining elusive to those who have turned away from enlightenment.

There is no need to engage in debates on such matters. It’s important to remember that we cannot compel salvation. When it does happen, God must prepare the heart before we are called to convey the message of hope and faith.

1 Corinthians 13: 10-13

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.ย

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
