The Illusion of Freedom Part 5

In Every Problem Lies a Solution

The discovery of the actual problem is vital to finding the solution. If you’ve made it this far, you’re already halfway there. Tracing back from the end goal to the available options ensures that these choices won’t lead us astray. If none of the alternatives seems appealing, avoiding extremes and finding a middle ground is possible. We can also consider options that lie outside the offered extremes. There’s always a gap that gives us the chance to achieve what may seem impossible. We must identify something within our control instead of dwelling on what others can do. Therefore, we must learn to look within ourselves and establish principles based on internal affirmation.

Promoting Inward Growth

We can develop value systems and principles within our control. Internal principles may be a guiding force in navigating our decisions. If love is recognised as something positive, then it becomes beneficial for us to prioritise self-love. In a world filled with deceptive constructs, it’s natural to question whether loving ourselves could lead to a form of self-imposed confinement. How does self-love differentiate itself from narcissism? Narcissism is confining because it stems from seeking external validation. Instead of nurturing, it depletes while masking the necessary internal resolution.

It’s challenging to discern a healthy and genuine form of self-love on our own. Whatever comes from outside is part of the prison that will try to influence us toward confinement. It cannot liberate us. We must use only materials that come from authentic things.

Growing The Wisdom of Solomon

Through Christ, we are given freedom through the death of the Messiah, which becomes the light (illumination) that guides us. The Holy Spirit serves as an interpreter that validates all we see based on the truth from the world’s source, not its corruptor. Through this, we gain the discernment that enables us to see beyond what the mind and eyes may overlook – piercing through the illusions in a world that despises truth. Discernment brings clarity of mind and vision, enabling us to see through this world’s distortions despite the attempts to imitate the true freedom we are meant to have.

Internalizing the Word and accepting the guidance of the Holy Spirit liberates us from these traps. We are bestowed with the ability to make proper choices with our free will – led by one who has travelled that road and escaped the claws of death. Making such choices opposes predetermined options that do not serve us. True liberty allows us to create options that align with our intended outcomes.

Matthew 18:3-5

and said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner selfโ€”your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever receives and welcomes one child like this in My name receives Me.
