Introducing a Transient Diverging Outcome

The efficacy of sleight of hand lies in its ability to leave the original equation untouched. Nothing is removed; instead, a minor insertion is made, easily overlooked. It’s common for people to notice losses more than gains. Our two options lead to different transient destinations before converging at the same tangible outcome: their consequences on our purpose, autonomy, and well-being. Hence, they impact our reality and ability to create tangible things that affect us and those around us.

We cannot thrive solely based on what others think and do; these are their creations, not ours. Instead, we must initiate our intentions and actions to make our unique impact on the world rather than echoing what others do. However, our two options do not offer that choice, and it’s important to recognize this gap when considering their value.

Whatever Lacks Life Depletes Us

People may invest surprisingly little in you, yet you invest everything in them. This observation highlights that seeking love or being loved is not inherently harmful. The issue arises when one focuses solely on seeking it from others and struggling to maintain the status quo. By choosing to make approval from others the focal point of their lives, individuals become enslaved by it, losing control. This preoccupation consumes them, so they cannot reevaluate and contemplate the initial available choices. Their only concern is whether they are investing enough effort to sustain or secure love from others.

Not Retracing Our Steps

This phenomenon illustrates the challenges we face when striving to make decisions that we hope will lead to better outcomes, only to find that the outcomes remain unchanged. It can be disheartening to realize that the two options offer the same result in the broader context. This is a poignant example of the illusion of choice, where we feel we are making a genuine decision when, in reality, the options may not truly differ. Despite this, the desire for a positive outcome holds a powerful sway over our decisions and actions.

Is There No Hope of Escape

Shall we give up and refuse to make a choice, or shall we not care about whatever choice is given, knowing we are trapped? Not at all. Seeing through the illusion is the first step to learning the rules of engagement. If you know how the enemy plays, you can use the same tactics to escape the situation. There is always a loophole or vulnerability in the clauses that govern reality. If you study the clauses, you can see how to navigate to land where you need to. When you know you are given no choices, you can create new choices that lead to the outcome you wish to produce.

You found the fallacy in the illusion of freedom because you approached the problem from a perspective that was not expected of you. In a sense, this is the birth of true freedom. The ability to create authentic, impactful choices is the product of true freedom.
