The Simplicity and Struggle of Letting Go

Surrendering to the Lord is both the simplest and the hardest act of faith. We readily acknowledge God’s sovereignty, His omnipotence, and His superiority to all our abilities. Yet what holds us back is not disbelief—it’s fear. There is a fear that the good fight for the kingdom may be victorious in heaven, but costly at our level.

The Fear Beneath the Faith

We do not doubt God’s power. What we fear is being asked to sacrifice more than we can bear. We trust His love for the kingdom, but sometimes question whether that love will shield us personally. We fear being collateral in a cosmic war, rather than cherished participants.

Reframing Surrender

True surrender is not loss—it is union. It is not the erasure of self, but the alignment of self with divine purpose. What dies in surrender is illusion, not essence. We are not giving up—we are being gathered in.

The Gift of Free Will and the Invitation to Trust

God has blessed us with free will, but we are invited to yield it—not as victims, but as beloved children. We hold on to Him with greater vigour than we hold on to the things of the world. And when we finally let go, we do not fall into chaos—we fall into covenant.

The Catching Grace of God

May God catch us when we fall—not because we failed, but because we finally trusted Him enough to let go. The arms that catch us are not reactive—they’ve been open since before we knew we needed them.
