Matthew 27: 22-23

 “What shall I do, then, with Jesus, who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked.

They all answered, “Crucify him!” “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.

But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

The Consequences of Spiritual and Moral Decline

Evil cannot succeed without human agreement. However, one wouldn’t agree to such a deal unless they are not of a sound mind. Moving away from God’s will can harm others unnecessarily and often leads to self-destruction. Without God, the right path is obscured, causing people to lose sight and focus on small, short-term benefits that yield no future. Lacking a reference from the past and hope for the future, individuals become stuck in the present with no actual purpose. The only outcome of giving in to dark urges is the loss of their souls and the well-being of their descendants. The brutality of the people’s attack and mockery of Christ, whom they knew was innocent, reflected the corruption of their minds, hearts, and souls.

Divine Strategy Through The Crucifixion Of Christ

If natural laws were in effect, the people would have had to let Jesus go. However, evil forces aimed for his crucifixion, thinking it would end God’s plan to save humanity. They didn’t realize that God anticipated this to happen. Their evil plans contributed to humanity’s salvation, showing that God considers even harmful intentions. Our fate is secure with God. Still, the people’s actions could have prevented their restoration and that of their children if Christ hadn’t forgiven them and asked his Father to do the same. They truly didn’t understand the consequences of their actions, lacking the vision to see the bigger picture.
