Does it Pay to Kick Others to Ascend in The World?

We live in a world where people find it easy to kick people who they think are down. This primitive instinct arose from times when resources were scarce, and the clan’s survival depended on eliminating sick or old people. Spreading pain and misery requires no special attributes; anyone can do it. But remember that “by the same measure you give, you shall also receive” (Luke 6:38). 

It is common for people who claim to have integrity, even believers, to be or facilitate ringleaders of injustices. Some believe witnessing such occurrences is not part of the problem and that they are blameless. Yet scripture says, “If we be not for him, then we are against him” (Matthew 12:30). God knows we need to eat; he will never place us in a position to do evil to survive. Such circumstances usually mean a person has chosen personal comfort over serving the Lord.

How should people of integrity handle injustice when it is more profitable to go with the flow?

May we continue to guard our hearts. There is a good reason why God says many people will call out to him, but they will be unknown to him. Unbelievers come in many forms; many probably see themselves as righteous men of God, but their actions and allegiances champion all that is against Christ’s teachings. 

It takes strength, maturity, authenticity, and love for self and others to empathize with someone without walking a mile in their shoes. We live in a world where anyone can contribute positively if they choose. There is no need to kick anyone when they are down. Real warriors don’t look for wounded opponents to feel powerful; only cowards do that. May those who help while others celebrate their downfall always have someone to hold them up whenever they fall. They are blessed to manifest the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Through them, Glory is given to the Lord.
