Many individuals tend to perceive themselves as more righteous Christians, leading them to intentionally exclude others in worship settings or workplaces. While boundaries or scriptures may guide us, they should not permit us to deliberately cause pain. As professionals, we can converse and collaborate with our peers while maintaining a level of formality. It is important to be acquainted with many individuals, but we must be vigilant of those who influence our decisions and lifestyle choices.
In any group endeavor, it is imperative to reach a consensus on the intended goals and the means to achieve them. This applies to individuals as well. Advancement requires diligence and preparation. Progressing can prove impossible if some move forward, while others remain stagnant or move in the opposite direction. In such cases, one must concede to follow the other. Compromising or circumventing the system may lead to an unfavorable outcome. Therefore, it becomes essential to have a plan in place, and to strive towards its realization.
Life is not a battle. You will always encounter individuals who are willing to support your endeavors. It is imperative to be truthful with oneself and unwavering in pursuit of one’s objectives. The quality of the individuals with whom you surround yourself is more important than the quantity. Some people seek to elevate their status by aligning themselves with the less successful; however, they often end up joining their ranks.
We are shaped by those closest to us. Our dearest companions have the power to influence our values and pursuits. If our friends are dishonest or apathetic, we may find ourselves making the same choices. However, if those nearest us are dedicated and sincere in their ambitions, we may be similarly driven. As we mature and evolve, we often outgrow some relationships and preferences. We seek out those who resonate with who we are and who we aspire to be. Our company defines us, and our actions reflect who we are becoming. We are drawn to those who enrich our journey.
Serve all, laugh with many, plan with some, confide in a few, and dream with yourself. Trust God always. Let your steps be ordered as he bears your York. Hopefully, the world will move away from the “connections” mindset or entitlement. May the future be about people earning their place at the table by bringing value to the feast.
